Media representatives are required to obtain accreditation in order to attend events held at the State Hermitage Museum. The Museum Security Service grants access to the halls to accredited journalists ONLY.
We kindly ask you to obtain your accreditation for upcoming events by writing to the Press Service of the State Hermitage Museum at: press@hermitage.ru. Please indicate in the letter your last name, first name, patronymic, media title and position. In order to provide accreditation for some events, we may require your passport details, for which we will notify you in advance.
Unfortunately, the Press Service of the State Hermitage Museum does not grant free admission to the Museum for media representatives except for press event days. However, we can arrange your visit to the State Hermitage Museum upon receipt of a reasoned request to the Directorate of the State Hermitage Museum (see Section “Professional Filming in the State Hermitage Museum”).
PROFESSIONAL FILMING IN THE STATE HERMITAGE MUSEUM
Interviews and comments from Mikhail Piotrovsky, Director General of the State Hermitage Museum, his deputies and other Museum employees are available ONLY upon prior request, which can be sent by

All subsequent procedures shall be agreed upon by the Press Service of the State Hermitage.
It is prohibited to film action scenes (including filming with actors) in the State Hermitage Museum.
All professional filming in the Museum shall be carried out by prior request and authorization granted by the Directorate of the State Hermitage Museum. Request consideration time may vary from three business days to three weeks, depending on the number of requests for professional filming and workload of the Directorate. Please plan your filming in advance, according to the conditions indicated!
A request for professional filming shall be drawn up on official company letterhead addressed to Mikhail Piotrovsky, Director of the State Hermitage Museum; specifying:
- the name of the television company/publication
- the length of the plot/size of the article
- the storyline/article theme
- the halls and/or exhibits to be filmed
- proposed dates of filming/press visit
- contact details
- equipment (please note that the filming equipment must be agreed to by the Security Service of the State Hermitage Museum)

Professional filming on Palace Square must be agreed to by the Directorate of the State Hermitage Museum and with the Administration of the Central District of St. Petersburg.
TERMS FOR USING IMAGES FROM THE STATE HERMITAGE MUSEUM WEBSITE
Publication of images of temporary exhibitions is allowed ONLY for the duration of such exhibitions. The use of images for other terms is a copyright violation, responsibility for which shall be borne by the publication that used an image in violation of the rules.
